On Monday, Senate President Steve Sweeney tried to cut a deal with Gov. Christie that could put a $1.3 billion dollar hole in our state budget, leaving vital services like education and women's health at risk while protecting tax cuts for the rich. With unemployment hovering around 9%, the last thing we need are backroom deals that hurt the middle-class.
What’s even worse is they may try to force the plan through committee this Thursday, limiting the ability for the public to speak out.
