BlueWaveNJ needs YOU!

Keeping the House and the Senate in 2022 is critical to saving our democracy. BlueWaveNJ is known for its effective fieldwork and we will be doubling our efforts in 2022. Our election work in 2020 was incredible (numbers) and last year we made calls and canvassing (numbers) to help reelect our Governor. This year, keeping the House means retaining every NJ Democratic Congressional seat and BlueWaveNJ will be canvassing, producing IP ads, mailing postcards, and raising money for our three swing district representatives-- Congressman Malinowski, Congresswoman Sherrill and Congressman Kim. We will also be working to expand our senate majority by helping to elect Democratic Senators in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin through canvassing, phonebanks and postcards.

This election effort will be in addition to maintaining our state-wide policy advocacy and education, which has yielded important legislation from increasing the minimum wage, passing earned sick leave and the millionaires tax as well as codifying reproductive rights at the beginning of this year. BlueWaveNJ also played an important role in redistricting at both the federal and state levels through our testimony and grassroots advocacy over the last six months.

Our standing as a volunteer organization and our ability to mobilize on vital issues have grown dramatically in the last two years, but our income has gone in the opposite direction.

In normal times, funding comes from contributions by the 250+ attendees and sponsors at our annual in-person Gala, but these are not normal times. The pandemic in its many variants has continually put the kibosh on meeting in person; the last Gala was in April 2019, and our finances have suffered accordingly. The Gala is now planned for September 9 2022 either outside or inside, depending on pandemic conditions. Please save the date.

In the meantime, we need your help, in particular, we must hire a part-time field coordinator, buy ad space, design and print postcards (other??)
