The horrific Republican tax cut bill is not law yet -- and may never be. Senators Susan Collins and Jeff Flake conditioned their votes on promises from Trump and McConnell that will not be honored. McCain is once again lamenting degraded Senate processes. Doug Jones could win in Alabama.
On Sunday, December 14 we're hitting the phones again -- calling voters in Arizona and Maine and urging them to call their senators and demand a no vote when the merged bill comes back to the Senate.
The tax bill massively cuts taxes for corporations while raising them on working people. It increases the deficit by $1.4 trillion and so will trigger large automatic spending cuts to key domestic programs including Medicare, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office -- a $25 billion cut next year and every year after. The Senate version also cripples Obamacare by repealing a core part of the law -- likely un-insuring 13 million people, according to CBO. House Republicans are reportedly on board with that.

The tax bill:
- raises taxes on every income group up through $50,000-75,000 by 2027, while making a huge corporate tax cut permanent.
- repeals the ACA individual mandate, which will reduce the ranks of the insured by 13 million according to projections by the Congressional Budget Office.
- triggers about $150 billion dollars per year in mandatory spending cuts, including a $25 billion cut to Medicare in the first year, according to CBO.
- will lead to massive spending cuts Medicaid and voucherized Medicare, per Paul Ryan's avowals.
