We want to thank you for making the Blue Wave possible.
BlueWaveNJ members participated in over 1,700 canvassing shifts, that resulted in knocking on over 51,000 doors. We handed out over 20,000 postcards at train stations and canvassing events comparing the candidates positions on healthcare and the environment.
You gave up your time, personal space, and money to impact the outcome of the election. Your homes became a place to stay for out of state activists, for fundraisers, phone banks, and canvassing staging location. You gave up sleep to leaflet in the morning at train stations and bus stops. Your weekends were not time off, but time for action. You went beyond clicks and likes to the tangible action required to create a better future. You're making a difference.
We focused our efforts in the 3rd, 7th, and 11th congressional districts as well as the state's senate race. Because of grassroots efforts such as ours, these races were won. With 11 out of 12 Congressional races held by Democrats and the return of our Democratic senator, New Jersey is now deep blue and was a critical part of the the Blue Wave that swept the country.
Creating A Plan For 2019
With Democrats taking control of the house, we are in a position to make significant changes. We are working to put together our 2019 list of both national as well as state priorities and want input from the BlueWaveNJ community. Please let us know on the online form what your 2019 top priorities are for the country and New Jersey.
We will be finalizing this list before the end of the year, so please submit your suggestions by December 9th.
