BluewaveNJ Grassroots Action Committee

Overview

As you may already know, the BlueWaveNJ Board unanimously endorsed Phil Murphy for NJ Governor. The gubernatorial election will be one of the Committee’s key areas of focus for 2017.

In addition, the Committee will be responsible for the following:

• Opening and operating a Progressive Action Center in the Montclair area

• Recruiting new BWNJ members

• Networking and collaborating with other progressive groups throughout NJ

• Identifying and supporting progressive candidates for local, county and state offices

• Training volunteers in election-related activities, including phone banking and canvassing

• Supporting the action plans and events of the other BWNJ Working Groups

The Grassroots Action Committee will divide the work among sub-committees, which will take on specific responsibilities including:

• Securing space and managing the Progressive Action Center

  • Develop a criteria for the storefront location

  • Develop management overview of the Center; identify resources and staffing needs.

• Support the Murphy Campaign

  • Create action plan to secure 1,000 signatures for the ballot petition

  • Coordinate activities including phone banking and canvassing

• Flip the 11^th Congressional District

  • Develop tactics to pressure Frelinghuysen

  • Support Progressive and Democratic Groups in the 11^th

• Recruit new BWNJ Members

  • Develop outreach plan to recruit and engage new BWNJ members

• Identify and support progressive candidates for local, county and state offices

  • Marcia Marley to chair this sub-committee

  • Develop criteria for BWNJ endorsement of candidates
